WWE News: The Rock heaps praise on Finn Balor
What’s the story?
So, the incredible thing about Twitter is that we sometimes see some wonderful interactions between WWE Superstars past and present that we thought we may never see, and that's exactly what has happened when The Rock hilariously responded to a tweet from none other than Finn Balor, praising the Irishman for his current work.
In case you didn’t know…
Just now is as exciting a time as ever for Balor, having not really gathered momentum since having to relinquish the WWE Universal Championship due to injury, he seems to have found his feet again with WWE pulling the trigger on a certain reunion with some old friends in a run that looks set to continue through 2018.
To not know how big of a superstar The Rock is both inside and outside of the WWE Universe, you'd have to be living under a... Well, you get the point.
The Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment is currently making waves in Hollywood, playing the starring role in newly released blockbuster Jumanji, but he still managed to take some time out to respond to The Ordinary Man Who Can Do Extraordinary Things when he made a witty quip about the People's Champ on Twitter.
The heart of the matter
Balor took to Twitter with this hilarious and "shocking" tweet...
But The Rock's response took everyone by surprise, with possibly the most "over" Superstar of all time piling the praise on a man who had controversially been accused of having quite the opposite problem.
Classy as always from the man who constantly proves just why he is the People's Champion.
What's next?
Well, if some reports are to be believed, we could see The Rock appearing at the 25th-anniversary edition of WWE Raw later this month, we can be pretty certain Finn Balor will be in attendance.
I guess we'll have to wait to find out if the two will meet in the wrestling world anytime soon.
Author’s take
Both of these Superstars are firm fan favorites among the WWE Universe, and this little interaction has probably prompted thoughts of a dream match no-one knew they wanted until now.
How awesome would it be to see The Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment go face to face with The Demon?
Probably very unlikely, but it's always cool to see true legends praise current Superstars - especially given the recent accusations of Finn Balor not being "over" - although WWE's merchandising department seem to have quickly quashed that rumor with the creative team following closely behind with their recent booking of Balor.
