WWE News: The Rock praises NXT's newest Superstar Ricochet
What’s the story?
In a latest Twitter exchange earlier today, WWE veteran and one of the icons of professional wrestling, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson gave some huge praise to WWE’s newest signing - Ricochet.
In case you didn’t know…
Ricochet made his WWE NXT debut at NXT TakeOver: Philadelphia, when the former New Japan Pro Wrestling Superstar was shown sitting in the audience among the rest of the WWE Universe.
Having previously competed for notable wrestling promotions such as NJPW, Lucha Underground, PWG and more, Ricochet has already made a huge name for himself in the industry and in his debut match in NXT, the former IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Champion defeated Fabian Aichner. Also, earlier this month, Ricochet competed in the first-ever NXT North American Championship match at TakeOver: New Orleans.
The heart of the matter
Earlier today, Brian Truitt of USA Today posted an image of NXT superstar Ricochet on Twitter with a caption that showcased the latter executing a Rock Bottom Flip during a match at NXT’s recent house show in Washington D.C.
Following Truitt’s tweet, former WWE World Champion The Rock weighed in with his opinion on the former Prince Puma, as he claimed to be a huge fan of Ricochet’s in-ring work and also noted that without a shadow of doubt, the 29-year-old will certainly prove himself to be the leader in ushering in a new era in the wrestling business.
In addition, Ricochet also decided to respond to The People's Champion in a very warm and pleasant manner and eventually thanked him via a recent tweet:
What’s next?
As of right now, the current plans apparently suggest that Ricochet is scheduled to ignite a fresh new rivalry with The Velveteen Dream on NXT and the two men could very well square-off at NXT TakeOver: Chicago in June.
Author’s take
There is certainly no doubt about the fact that Ricochet is definitely one of the best in-ring competitors of today’s generation and now that he has finally signed with the WWE, he is certainly destined to achieve greatness.
