WWE News: The Rock's daughter interested in wrestling career
What's the story?
Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson's daughter Simone Garcia Johnson recently conducted an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, where the daughter of 'The Great One' indicated that she'd like to follow in her father's footsteps and pursue a wrestling career.
In case you didn't know...
If you're here, you likely know who The Rock is, but just in case you somehow don't let me introduce you. Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson is widely regarded one of the greatest, if not the greatest wrestler in the world, he's an eight-time world champion and the self-proclaimed 'Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment'.
The heart of the matter
In the recent interview, Simone Garcia Johnson announced that it might be a case of like father, like daughter as she has thought about entering the world of wrestling.
“It’s a sport that is unlike anything else in the world. There’s just a certain amount of passion that every move and match requires, and that’s so admirable. It’s definitely something I’ve thought about and want to pursue.”
In the wrestling world, family lineage appears to be a big deal, with Superstars often being referred to as second, or third generation. We've seen it used recently with Ric Flair coming out to celebrate with Charlotte Flair's SmackDown LIVE title win.
What's next?
I wonder if the WWE would make Simone Garcia Johnson do a trial, or whether they'd hire her up and get her training in the performance centre as soon as possible because of who she is.
Author's take
Obviously, without seeing Simone Garcia Johnson inside a wrestling ring, wrestling, or cutting a promo we can't really judge whether or not this will be a good idea. But, if she has anywhere near the talent and charisma as her father, then we'll be in luck.
