WWE News: WWE 2K18 soundtrack is "banging" ahead of release, according to The Rock
What's the story?
The Rock is not only one of the wrestlers you can play as in WWE 2K18 but also the game's executive soundtrack producer.
In a tweet posted by the WWE, the “Brahma Bull” opened up about WWE 2K18's soundtrack in his own unique style.
In case you didn't know...
WWE 2K18 is an annual release from 2K sports and features many upgrades from the last release.
The game is expected to be released worldwide on October 17, 2017; however, early review copies have been shipping all-around.
The heart of the matter
The Rock certainly has been away from the WWE ring for a while but it is no surprise that he had a hand in the creation of the game and he started off by reading from a cue card.
“I personally curated the WWE 2K18 soundtrack. Check out the soundtrack now streaming on Apple Music.”
The Rock also spoke about the early release date before getting into character and tearing the cue card from which he was reading.
The former WWE champion also added that “the soundtrack is banging”, before speaking about a track that he plays prior to his training. He ended the segment by knocking his chair off and walking away.
Some of the artists featured on the soundtrack include Bruno Mars, Kanye West, Kid Rock and Blues Brothers.
What's next?
The game features the largest ever roster for the third time in a row and also features Kurt Angle as a playable character, should you have ordered the game as a pre-order bonus.
There are a number of tie-ups as well, with KFC’s Colonel Sanders being another playable character; the creation suite in the game is reportedly incredible.
Author's take
It is a bit of a surprise that the game required a curated soundtrack given that the wrestlers themselves have a number of belting tracks, especially those who have graduated from NXT.
There are 11 tracks in the game but, frankly, I would prefer listening to Shinsuke Nakamura’s or Finn Balor’s theme.
