WWE News: The Rock shares awesome story about Hulk Hogan; Hogan asks for a rematch
What’s the story?
In a promotional interview for his movie Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle, The Rock shared an awesome story about himself and Hulk Hogan.
The Rock narrated how he caught a bandana thrown by Hogan but had to return it, before eventually getting it back—
Apparently, Hogan got wind of the aforementioned narration, and chimed in with his two cents on the story—
In case you didn’t know…
Hulk Hogan was professional wrestling’s biggest star back in the 1980s.
Hogan often threw his bandanas into the crowd, getting the fans hyped up for his performance.
The heart of the matter
The Rock’s Hulkster story dates back to 1984 when he caught a bandana thrown by Hogan into the crowd, as the former was seated ringside at Madison Square Garden. Rocky went backstage after the match and showed the bandana to his father Rocky Johnson, before meeting Hogan and thanking him for the memorabilia.
However, Hogan had to take back the bandana as it was the only one he had left, but eventually made several copies of said bandana; signing one and returning it to The Rock. Rocky addressed the same and thanked Hogan for being so very nice to him when the former was just a 12-year-old kid.
Furthermore, Hogan jested that if The Rock wants another bandana like that he’d have to give him a rematch of their Wrestlemania 18 bout which the Brahma Bull won.
What’s next?
The Rock is presently busy with his Hollywood obligations, whereas Hogan is up to something big but currently secretive in the world of professional wrestling.
Author’s take
Hulk Hogan is just a marvellous person, and this is merely another example of his greatness.
On the other hand, The Rock’s gratitude and humility after all these years of success in both pro-wrestling and Hollywood never cease to amaze. True legends!
