WWE News: The Undertaker no-shows final RAW before WrestleMania 34
What's the story?
WrestleMania 34 was believed to be the sight of a long-awaited dream match between The Undertaker and John Cena, but The Deadman's status for the show this Sunday has been left intentionally vague.
Cena challenged The Undertaker six weeks ago to a WrestleMania match, but The Phenom has yet to respond on any level.
In case you didn't know...
The Undertaker was believed to have been retired following WrestleMania 33 after losing to Roman Reigns, but The Phenom's return to WWE programming for Raw 25 caused many to believe he had one more match planned for the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana - the sight of his historic defeat at the hands of Brock Lesnar.
The heart of the matter
The rumours regarding The Undertaker facing John Cena started back in 2017 when Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that Cena was scheduled to take part in a big match for WrestleMania.
Cena informed the fans back in February that his wish for a match with 'Taker was "impossible" before attempting to win the WWE Championship from AJ Styles at Fastlane.
After the pay-per-view, Cena ignored the "impossible" label he gave the match a week prior and formally challenged The Undertaker to a match.
Though Undertaker remained absent from WWE programming, several reports and rumours suggested that Cena versus Taker was still the planned program for WrestleMania 34.
The expectation from many was that Taker would return to WWE programming this week with an official answer, but that did not occur.
What's next?
With this week's absence, the lack of time of response will either mean the Deadman returns to WWE on SmackDown Live, make a return at the Superdome or that he won't show up at all.
Author's take
Reigns claims to have retired The Undertaker sound a lot more convincing this time around, but there should The Deadman will be expected to say something in the that follow.
