WWE News: The Undisputed Era talks about conquering the NXT Universe
What’s the story?
Current NXT Tag Team Champions and members of The Undisputed Era, Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly recently sat down with Byron Saxton for an exclusive interview for WWE.com. During the interview, both Fish and O’Reilly talked about Undisputed Era’s success in the WWE, the group’s chemistry, and their future plans with the WWE.
In case you didn’t know…
The Undisputed Era made their debut in August of 2017, as part of NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III, when the group brutally attacked then NXT Champion Drew McIntyre, after McIntyre had won his match against Bobby Roode.
Shortly upon their arrival in WWE, The Undisputed Era did not waste any time in making their mark on the NXT territory as the trio of Adam Cole, Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly won the historic WarGames match that took place last November in Houston, Texas.
The heart of the matter
During their interview with Byron Saxton, the duo of Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly spoke about a host of wrestling related topics. Here are a few highlights from the interview:
According to Bobby Fish, he and Kyle O’Reilly have been the pioneers of tag team wrestling and have been the standard tag team in this business ever since November of 2012. Fish claimed that each team that they go up against is like a brand new puzzle to them and they prepare for their challenges with absolute precision, timing, and sharpening their in-ring abilities to its finest edge possible. He stated:
“Matches are won before the bell rings. First, we let you know the when, where, why and how — the verbal. Then comes the mental, the inevitability of what's about to happen to you. And finally, the physical, when we put you out of your misery.”
Kyle O’Reilly said he believes that The Undisputed Era’s chemistry is something unlike anything else on this planet. Additionally, he also thinks that The Undisputed Era likes to work in a very relentless and unorthodox manner, and has a new system of attacking and defending that is difficult to prepare for.
“Bobby knows what I'm planning to do before I do sometimes.”
Bobby Fish added that The Undisputed Era likes to follow the simple “A-to-B” system, and thus success follows the trio like a lost dog searching for its home. This is what he had to say:
“The variety of challenge ensures the entertainment of those who follow our history. Watch as time and time again we prove there is no team walking this planet who can operate on our level. We are NXT, and this is our era!"
What’s next?
During the recent few weeks, The Undisputed Era has seemed to engage themselves in an intense rivalry with Aleister Black, who suffered his first pinfall loss in NXT thanks to the notorious trio of Cole, Fish, and O’Reilly.
Black and Adam Cole are also set to collide for the second time at NXT Takeover: Philadelphia in an Extreme Rules match. Meanwhile, on the other hand, newly crowned NXT Tag Team Champions Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish will defend their NXT Tag Team Titles against the Authors of Pain at the same pay-per-view.
Author's take
The Undipusted Era has certainly proved their worth ever since arriving in the WWE. The former Ring of Honor stars have been on a roll in NXT and apparently, it looks like nothing can stop the trio.
