The Usos had a great 2017
The Usos had a great 2017

What’s the story?

Speaking to WWE.com, The Usos revealed that they felt slighted on being relegated to the Kickoff Show at SummerSlam earlier this year.

Additionally, The Usos also vented out at not being included on the Wrestlemania 33 card, adding that several teams undeserving of the position got to compete on the card rather than them.

In case you didn’t know…

The Usos are being praised for having one of their best years ever in the WWE—both by fans as well as experts.

Jimmy & Jey Uso are the reigning WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions and continued their reign of dominance right through the blue brand’s most recent PPV Clash Of Champions earlier this month.

The heart of the matter

The Usos asserted that they felt insulted on being relegated to the Kickoff Show on one of the biggest PPVs of the year SummerSlam, especially considering that their rivalry with The New Day was one of the hottest feuds of the year. The Usos added that given that the fans were yet to fill out the arena during their Kickoff Show matchup, they decided to do their thing and give the match their very best—

“Our mindset is, we’re gonna make sure this will be the hardest match to follow. And yeah, they messed up by putting us on first, but we ain’t got no choice but to do it. But to make this match a hell of a tag team match, to make this match a hell of a title match, to make this match a hell of a match period…we almost hurt the show, you know what I’m saying?”

Furthermore, The Usos explained how disappointed they were at being passed over for other teams at Wrestlemania 33; alluding that some of those teams weren’t even worthy of being in the match. The Usos continued that no one will be able to stop and hold them back, and they will rise to the top much like the cream always does.

What’s next?

The Usos continue to rule the blue brand with the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships, with several other teams such as The New Day, Breezango, Rusev & Aiden English, Shelton Benjamin & Chad Gable and THESE guys to name a few chomping at the bit to dethrone them.

Author’s take

The Usos are spot-on as regards their assessment of their matchup with The New Day being booked for the Kickoff Show.

Jimmy & Jey are top-tier talents in the WWE today, and need to be treated so. Here’s another accomplishment the brothers can add to their caps in 2017.
