Stephanie McMahon reveals the Women's Royal Rumble at a Raw in December...

What's the story?

Mike Johnson of PWInsider is reporting on the events that are unfolding at the NBC Upfront event in New York City. One of the major points in WWE's part of the presentation was the Women's Revolution.

In case you didn't know...

The Women's Revolution has been front and center within the WWE over the past couple of years with several first-time events happening in the history of women's wrestling within the WWE.

At this point, only a main event spot at WrestleMania is left for the women to achieve after having the first Hell in a Cell, Money in the Bank Ladder Match, and Royal Rumble matches.

The heart of the matter

The NBC Upfront is a media event where the company unveils its plans for the upcoming fall television schedule when new shows debut and returning shows start a new season. This year's event took place at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

There was a special wrestling ring set up on stage where Stephanie McMahon discussed the Women's Revolution. Take a look at a picture that was taken of the ring from someone in attendance.

During her speech, Stephanie mentioned that they now call the female talent WWE Superstars (removing the Diva moniker), same as the men. She also mentioned the match that took place between Sasha Banks and Alexa Bliss in the United Arab Emirates; which prompted a "this is hope" chant.

Stephanie was joined in the ring by WWE Raw Women's Champion Nia Jax, Charlotte Flair, and Ronda Rousey as well. Each woman would talk about their background and career to close out the segment.

What's next?

Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live take place from the 02 Arena in London, England, this week. According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Nia, Charlotte, and Ronda are not expected to attend this week's tapings.

Author's take

The women of the WWE have come a long way in just a short amount of time. I feel that it is only a matter of time before the women close WrestleMania with an amazing match-up. It could be as soon as next year with the potential of Asuka and Ronda Rousey.
