WWE News: These 5 superstars could be World Champion in the near future!

Is there gold in the future for The Lone Wolf?

What’s the story?

WWE just posted a new video on their website, which may very well be a teaser of things to come, regarding the future of the WWE Championship:

In case you didn't know...

The WWE Championship was originally introduced in April of 1963, with Buddy Rogers as the first champion. Brock Lesnar defeated The Rock at the 2002 SummerSlam pay-per-view, which made Lesnar the youngest WWE Superstar to ever win the title at 25 years old. This is not to be confused with Randy Orton being the youngest to win the World Heavyweight Championship, a title he won at 24 years old.

Vince McMahon remains the oldest to ever win the WWE title, which he won at 54 years young.

The heart of the matter

WWE posted an interesting video on WWE.com, which some think could be a potential spoiler of things to come. In the video, they list 5 WWE Superstars as possibly being in line to win the WWE Championship in the near future.

Here’s a look at the five names mentioned in the video:

-Sami Zayn

-Baron Corbin

-Samoa Joe

-Cesaro

-Shinsuke Nakamura

What’s next?

A lot of things are up in the air at the moment, as the WWE Superstar Shakeup recently took place this past week on RAW and Smackdown Live. In the coming weeks, we should expect the WWE landscape to level out and storylines to finally come together.

Author’s take

Every single name mentioned in that video, are worthy names and should be taken seriously as potential WWE Champions. The company is in a season of change right now, with a ton of young talent coming on board, pushing the envelope and challenging the WWE veterans to either step-up....or step-out.

Baron Corbin continues to impress me with his steady improvement. Sami Zayn is and always will be the ultimate fan favorite underdog story. Zayn winning the WWE title would ignite the WWE Universe like never before. Nakamura, Samoa Joe, and Cesaro all have rich wrestling pedigree’s, with a proven history of taking those elusive brass rings and running with them.
