WWE News: Titus O'Neil gives first interview since being suspended
Titus O’Neil recently spoke to Rapzilla for the first time since he was suspended at Daniel Bryan’s farewell on the February 8th episode of RAW. In case your memory fails you, O’Neil playfully grabbed WWE CEO Mr. McMahon’s arm while everyone was heading back to the locker room was was summarily suspended for 90 days as a result (later reduced to 60 days).
Many regard the suspension as an undue, knee-jerk reaction to something that was light-hearted. Though he’s posted on social media since, this is Titus’s first sit-down and this is what he had to say: “I always believe in all things there's always positives in it. I made a mistake at an inopportune time. Regardless if it was too harsh or overreacting or whatever people have deemed it, it all stems from my mistake. Whether I agree with it or not, I am owning it. I'm doing what I'd normally do in any other situation."
Reasonably upset as he was after the censure, Titus seems to have come full circle. At one point, there were rumours of the former WWE Tag Team Champion leaving the company, with former WWE Superstar Batista most memorably tweeting that Titus should ask for a release.
The admirably stoic former Florida Gator cleared the air about these rumours, saying, “I can go and coach, I can do a lot of stuff, but at the end of the day, I've never quit on anything in my entire life.”
With that sort of a stance at a frustrating time like this, it doesn’t need saying that O’Neil will be given a hero’s welcome upon his return to the WWE.
