WWE News: Tommaso Ciampa deliberately spoils Avengers: Infinity War

What's the story?

Tommaso Ciampa is an excellent example of how kayfabing your Twitter account can yield fantastic results as a professional wrestler. Between his incredible feud with Johnny Gargano and his rude antics online, Ciampa has slowly cemented himself as one of WWE's top heels. But he's gone too far this time. Too far!

In case you didn't know...

Ciampa recently tore the house down at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans in losing effort during a gruelling unsanctioned match against former friend turned bitter mortal enemy Johnny Gargano. However, true to his heelish ways Ciampa maintains that he never lost the match because technically it never happened, with it being unsanctioned and all.

The heart of the matter

The point is, that Ciampa has said and done some awful awful things both inside of a wrestling ring and on social media. But, I would argue that deliberately spoiling the plot of Avengers: Infinity War on Twitter is the worst thing the NXT Superstar will ever, ever do.

Ciampa took to Twitter to compare himself to the 'Mad Titan' Thanos, not a professional wrestler, but rather the extremely powerful and incredibly portrayed main villain in the recently released Avengers film, and in doing so sort-of gave away the ending of the film.

I am going to post the tweet below, so if you haven't watched Avengers: Infinity War yet I would recommend definitely not reading it. You have been warned!

What's next?

Many people took to Twitter to complain about Ciampa spoiling the film for them by suggesting that Thanos actually ends up triumphing in the end and that it's a terrific redemption story for Marvel's big-bad.

Author's take

Luckily for me, I'd already seen the movie, but perhaps that's how I knew it was an actual spoiler and not just a heel wrestler using a popular thing to get even more over as a heel. Either way, Ciampa knew exactly what he was doing.
