What's the story?

In a recent edition of the school of Morton podcast, Tommy Dreamer appeared as the guest and talked about a variety of topics including his equation with Paul Heyman and Vince McMahon.

In case you didn't know...

Dreamer made a huge name for himself working for Paul Heyman's ECW from 1993 until the promotion was bought out by Vince McMahon in 2001. He was a one-time ECW Champion and three-time Tag Team Champion during his run with the company.

He joined WWE in 2001 and stayed with the company till 2010 after which he joined TNA for a brief period and is now running his own promotion called the House Of Hardcore.

He is a former 14-time Hardcore Champion and ECW Champion as a part of WWE.

The heart of the matter

In his interview, Dreamer talked about whether he has been able to forgive Paul Heyman for selling ECW or not and he stated that he has indeed forgiven Paul even though it led to Dreamer losing a lot of money.

He also made a very interesting comparison between Vince McMahon and a Vampire (credit: nodq.com):

“I worked alongside him. I worked in the office next to him which he has veins of coffee because one he never sleeps, he may be a vampire and two his office is always cold so that’s another way he could be a vampire but I’ve got nothing but respect for Vince McMahon, I love him.”

He stated that his favourite part about working for WWE was working at the front office and hiring new people. He was the one who hired Superstars like CM Punk and Joey Mercury.

What's next?

Dreamer is currently running his promotion HOH successfully with huge names such as Carlito, Austin Aries and MVP being regulars.

Author's take

I feel Tommy is one of the most hardworking and loyal Superstars and was grossly underutilised during his run with WWE.

The comparisons he made between Vince and a Vampire were hilarious and he also showed in that interview that he doesn't hold grudges against anyone.
