WWE News: Randy Orton out of Survivor Series pay per view, here's why

Raw and SmackDown needs everyone on board for this cataclysmic showdown

Survivor Series is shaping up to be one of the best versions of the event in a number of years. Outside of Sting making his long-awaited WWE debut in 2014, there has not been much that has come out of one of the Big Four WWE events of the year. However, there appears to be a resurgence in the importance of the PPV with two legends and physical powerhouses, Bill Goldberg and Brock Lesnar, headlining the event. Along with key traditional Survivor Series matches for men, women, and tag teams, the excitement for this event is akin to the other major pay per views.

While it left many shocked and puzzled regarding the direction of the feud, it just may have been done to buy time since Orton is not scheduled to participate at Survivor Series. The reason for this is due to him and his wife Kimberly expecting their first child together as a couple, due two days after the event on November 22. Orton is not scheduled to return until November 29.

Over the past couple of months, Randy Orton has been involved in a program with Bray Wyatt. Interestingly, this match has been discussed among fans for quite some time, as they had yet to cross paths since Wyatt’s debut a few years ago. With the brand split, it gave an opportunity for this fresh feud to occur. So far, the two does not seem to jell very well, as their main event match at the No Mercy pay per view fell flat.

Perhaps, it could have been due to the presidential debate forcing WWE to make the triple threat world title main event first, along with the emotion that came with Dolph Ziggler winning the Intercontinental Championship at the possible expense of his career. Either way, the crowd was flatlined during most of the match.

Randy Orton shocked after Luke Harper returns at No Mercy

Over the past few weeks, Orton gained an alliance with former WWE World Champion Kane, who was also feuding with the Wyatt Family. When Orton and Wyatt were playing mind games to affect the other’s momentum, Kane was drawing up some of his old tricks as well. On the past episode of SmackDown, Orton appeared while Kane was being outnumbered by Wyatt and Luke Harper. All of a sudden, this happened.

Without Orton, Survivor Series will indeed be missing a huge name. However, based on Orton’s relevance over the past few months, this does not seem to be a huge blow to the card.
