WWE News: Torrie Wilson to be inducted into WWE Hall of Fame
What's the story?
WWE has today confirmed that Torrie Wilson will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2019 at WrestleMania Weekend.
The news was first reported by ESPNW.
In case you didn't know...
Wilson made her name as a fitness model in the late 1990s before attending a WCW event with her then-boyfriend, which resulted in her accompanying Scott Steiner to the ring and becoming a mainstay of professional wrestling for a decade.
Wilson made the switch to WWE in spring 2001 when Vince McMahon procured WCW and a pairing with Stacy Keibler would propel both to instant stardom. Wilson would battle Keibler, Trish Stratus, Mickie James and Sable - but perhaps one of the most memorable rivalries of hers has to be against Dawn Marie in one of WWE's strangest ever romance angles.
Wilson was forced to retire due to injury in 2008 but started a new business, Torrie Wilson Fit, where she would help others get in shape. Wilson would return to action almost exactly a decade later to take part in the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble Match before wrestling WWE Evolution, the first-ever all-women’s pay-per-view event - cementing an already incredible legacy.
