WWE News: Tribute To The Troops 2017 results (Spoilers)

Tribute To
Tribute To The Troops' 15th Anniversary looks like a great show

What's the story?

The 15th annual Tribute To The Troops took place at Naval Base in San Diego, California. WWE's best Superstars performed in an inter-brand show to give the troops the best show they could.

Although there were no Raw vs SmackDown matches, it was still a great show which will air on December 14th, but we have all of the results here. Please beware this article is nothing but spoilers.

In case you didn't know...

WWE has made an annual event of performing for the United States Armed Forces each year and it doesn't look like they're going to be slowing down on that tradition. While some years they took the show overseas, this year WWE opted to perform for troops stationed stateside, but it was still a very much appreciated venture.

The heart of the matter

The ring was set and the audience full of servicemen and women were excited about an action-packed show featuring some of the best Superstars WWE could offer. Although it's unknown exactly which order these matches will air, here are the results from the show where Michael Cole and Byron Saxton were on commentary.

Sheamus has been out of action trying to repair his spinal stenosis, the same injury that caused Edge and Steve Austin to hang up their boots, but he featured in the show. The Celtic Warrior teamed up with Cesaro and Samoa Joe to take on The Shield in a losing effort. Therefore, The Hounds Of Justice kicked off the show in winning fashion.

Paige, Mandy Rose, and Sonya Deville made their presence known by teaming up to defeat Sasha Banks, Mickie James, and Bayley. It looks like Absolution's domination is going to continue as Paige and her friends continue to run roughshod over the roster.

Charlotte Flair defeated Ruby Riott with the Figure 8 after a pretty good contest. It looks like the SmackDown Women's Champion is going to continue looking strong going into Clash Of Champions which is always a good thing for Flair.

The New Day and The Usos defeated Rusev, Aiden English, Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable. Even though it was Rusev Day, The Bulgarian Brute and his team fell to the SmackDown Tag Team Champions and the four-time WWE Tag Team Champions. But the crowd still ate it up because both The Usos and New Day were incredibly over.

The final match of the show was AJ Styles, Randy Orton, and Shinsuke Nakamura defeating Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn and Jinder Mahal. It's interesting to see how they meshed the two biggest matches for Clash Of Champions in the same match here. But the babyfaces won to send the crowd home happy.

Other highlights of the show included a performance from Machinegun Kelly, Lillian Garcia singing the National Anthem, and appearances from Vince McMahon, Shane McMahon, Mark Henry, Triple H, JBL, Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat, and Sgt. Slaughter.

What's next?

WWE's long-standing commitment to performing in front of the United States Troops is celebrating its 15th year in 2017 and there are no signs of this tradition stopping either. Fans could probably expect Supershows for the troops for years to come.

WWE films these wonderful showcases so fans can enjoy them unlike some of the stacked overseas house shows that we'll probably never see in their entirety.

Author's take

It's great that WWE continues to show their allegiance to the men and women in the US military by doing these shows. Tribute To The Troops 15 will be a star-studded show to highlight WWE's takeover week of the USA Network which is a very good place to highlight this kind of show.
