WWE News: Triple H on Ronda Rousey's WWE move, "If she's interested I'll give her the opportunity"
What’s the story?
Ronda Rousey and WWE have had a very interesting relationship. She's a huge fan and WWE officials are obviously fans of her's too. Of course, they are also very aware her name would bring a ton of eyes to anything she does with them.
The Background
The Mae Young Classic got a very exciting visitor when Ronda Rousey stopped by to watch her friend and fellow Four Horsewoman Shayna Baszler compete in the all-female tournament.
Rumors have been out there for a while about WWE wanting to do something with Rousey even before appearing at WrestleMania 31 when she participated in an angle with Stephanie McMahon. The Rock was having a great time in the ring until Stephanie McMahon decided to ruin his fun. Thankfully, he had Ronda Rousey at ringside to even things up.
Ronda's MMA career might be coming to a close as well. It's not been confirmed yet, but her last two outings in the Octagon weren't very successful so many are under the impression Rousey could soon be moving on to the next phase of her career.
The heart of the matter
Triple H recently spoke to ESPN's First Take where he discussed several topics including Ronda Rousey's status with WWE.
Triple H said that he knows Ronda Rousey is a huge fan of WWE and has been for her entire life. He then went on to say that if Rowdy Ronda is interested in WWE then he is certainly going to leave the door open for her to seize an opportunity with WWE if she so chooses. Thanks to Wrestling Inc for the following transcription.
"I think she's a huge fan and I think it's something she's definitely interested - I'll throw it out right now, if she's interested I'll give her the opportunity. But we're all about personalities and that's what she brings to the table. I think she has shown it, and you have seen, she has shown it in Hollywood, she has shown it everywhere. Her personality would drive fan interest."
What's next?
Ronda Rousey might be gearing up for some kind of match pitting her Four Horsewomen vs WWE's incarnation. With Survivor Series being the next "Big 4" pay-per-view that seems like a good time to set something like that up.
But only time will tell because a match with Ronda Rousey could be a big-time attraction worthy of a WrestleMania marquee.
Author’s take
The addition of Ronda Rousey to the WWE Universe would not only be huge news for fans of pro wrestling but it would also make headlines across the board.
There are reports she's training with The Brian Kendrick and already taking bumps so it could only be a matter of time before we see her in the ring. Ronda is a true WWE fangirl and Triple H is leaving the door very wide open for her whenever she wants to opportunity.
