WWE News: Triple H opens up about Daniel Bryan's in-ring clearance
What’s the story?
WWE COO Triple H recently spoke with ESPN earlier this week and opened up about Daniel Bryan’s in-ring clearance and also seemingly claiming that the former four-time WWE World Champion has been giving his best in order to prepare for his in-ring comeback, prior to WWE initially clearing him.
In case you didn’t know…
As noted, earlier in the month of March, WWE doctors finally decided to medically clear former four-time WWE World Champion Daniel Bryan and thus, allowing him to compete and wrestle in the ring for the first time in almost two and a half years.
Bryan’s return to in-ring competition has certainly opened up about the possibility of many potential dream matches within the WWE, that we the fans could witness within the next few years or so.
The heart of the matter
Triple H noted that there was a certain point in time when Daniel Bryan was not cleared by the WWE management and medical staff, but despite that, Bryan apparently got the green signal to once again compete in the ring by his own team and medical staff.
Triple H stated:
"Maybe not taking bumps, but training and doing the things he wanted to do to get himself back in shape just in case this did happen. So while we were making him go to additional doctors ... and running more tests and doing all these things to ensure that everything was all right, he was preparing."
In addition, Triple H also claimed that before Bryan got the chance to make his WWE in-ring comeback, “The Game” was actually hoping that the former WWE World and Intercontinental Champion wouldn't just throw his hands up about the situation of WWE not clearing him and eventually leaving the company in order to sign for some other promotion and wrestle for them instead.
“Part of me was so afraid in the period of time when it [was] all going down that he was going to walk and say 'forget it' and go wrestle for someone else that doesn't care, that doesn't take their health into consideration -- because that's pretty much everywhere else -- and risk his life and his health and his family and his baby and risk all of it.”
What’s next?
Daniel Bryan will team up with Shane McMahon at WrestleMania 34 next week when the two men compete in a tag team match against the notorious duo of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.
Author’s take
Daniel Bryan’s in-ring clearance will definitely go down as one of the greatest comeback stories in Pro Wrestling and history and personally, I can’t wait to see how “The American Dragon” does in his first match back in the WWE, at WrestleMania 34.
