WWE News: Triple H responds to criticism regarding "Lawn Chairs" at WWE's Norwich show

Triple H’s Tweet showed plastic chairs being used for the event

What’s the story?

Triple H recently posted a few pictures on his official Twitter account promoting WWE’s “UK Championship” show in Norwich, UK. The pictures showed Triple H and William Regal talking.

A Twitter user questioned the use of “Lawn Chairs” on the sets of the show, to which Triple H responded.

In case you didn’t know...

WWE are holding shows in Norwich, UK as part of their UK tour. The show in question is titled WWE UK Championship Live and has been billed as featuring members of WWE’s 205 Live roster as well as of the UK Championship tournament held by the company earlier this year.

The venue where the show is being held is known as “Epic Studios”, which is also where WAW (World Association of Wrestling)’s shows are usually held as well. For those not in the know, WAW is the wrestling promotion owned and operated by WWE Superstar Paige (Saraya Knight)’s family.

The heart of the matter

Triple H took to Twitter to promote the UK Championship Live show, he equated the show being held to the beginning of WWE NXT at the Full Sail University, signalling towards the start of yet another great addition to the WWE’s repertoire of programming.

The Tweet was as follows:

To this, BarStoolSports writer Robbie Fox responded by asking Triple H, aka Paul Levesque, whether the chairs were “lawn chairs”, his Tweet can be seen below:

Triple H responded by stating that it wasn’t about the type of chairs in the arena but it was the fans and the action in the ring that were important.

The chairs in question are provided by Epic Studios themselves and are a staple for all events that usually happen at the location. They have thus not been directly arranged by the WWE.

What’s next?

WWE’s Norwich show at Epic Studios will be held today and it will be the first time that WWE will be holding a proper taping in Norwich. The show will be featuring the likes of WWE United Kingdom Champion Tyler Bate, Trent Seven, Rich Swann, Akira Tozawa, TJ Perkins, Brian Kendrick and Tony Nese, among others.

Author’s take

I completely agree with Triple H’s stance on this. Fans of professional wrestling have gone to the seediest of venues in the worst parts of their respective towns just to be able to observe the spectacle. Some of the greatest matches ever have happened in sub-par conditions, in the not-so-great arenas of the world.

The wrestling in the ring, and the dedication of the fans outside of it, as Triple H said, is truly all that matters. We hope that the WWE have a great outing in Norwich and that this indeed ends up being the start of something amazing for the company!
