WWE News: Triple H reveals how Kurt Angle received clearance to compete at WWE TLC
What’s the story?
In a recent media conference call, Triple H explained how Kurt Angle received medical clearance to compete at WWE TLC.
Triple H asserted that it was around TLC that Kurt Angle started undergoing medical evaluation and his results came in just before the PPV. The Game also added that the entire process was just a great c
oincidence.
In case you didn’t know…
Kurt Angle parted ways with the WWE back in the mid-2000s owing to injury and addiction issues.
Angle competed in several notable promotions the world over before eventually returning to WWE, getting inducted into the Hall Of fame earlier this year and serving as the General Manager for Monday Night RAW.
The heart of the matter
Speaking of which, Kurt Angle served as an emergency replacement for an ill Roman Reigns at TLC and was officially cleared for in-ring competition by WWE for the event. Triple H addressed Angle’s return to competition, stating:
"I think it's awesome that Kurt's back in the ring (and) when Kurt first came back to the company we said let's take it one step at a time and see where things go. It's funny that we had just started the process of taking Kurt through the medical and making sure he was healthy and all those things.”
"Coincidentally, it ended up being completely a coincidence that Kurt and I had a conversation that started that process and then all of a sudden there was this opportunity and a need, and his results had just come in, so it just was a great coincidence in some ways."
Furthermore, Triple H reiterated his happiness at seeing Angle turn around his life after a series of injuries and issues outside the ring.
What’s next?
Triple H will compete alongside Kurt Angle, Braun Strowman, Samoa Joe & Finn Balor, representing Team RAW against Team SmackDown (Shane McMahon, Randy Orton, John Cena, Bobby Roode & Shinsuke Nakamura) at Survivor Series on November 19th.
Author’s take
Triple H and Kurt Angle are likely to face off inside the squared circle in the near future.
Nevertheless, it’s awesome to see the Cerebral Assassin show some much-deserved respect to Angle. Besides, the WWE made a great decision by having Kurt undergo his medicals before TLC and clearing him to compete. After all, who could possibly forget his incredible comeback at the show?
