WWE News: Triple H on why he hasn't retired from in-ring competition yet
What's the story?
14-time WWE World Champion Triple H recently sat down with ESPN.com and discussed a host of topics including his upcoming match against Jinder Mahal, helping the current youngsters in the WWE roster and much more. However, one of the most crucial topics that "The Game" discussed is why he still continues to wrestle in the WWE.
In case you didn't know...
Triple H is one of the most iconic and legendary stars in WWE history and has been part of Vince McMahon's promotion for well over two decades. "The Cerebral Assassin" is currently performing under a much lighter schedule and has been wrestling as a part-timer.
However, despite not being on a regular/active schedule, Triple H still remains as one of the greatest stars in the current WWE scenario and it is definitely a spectacle to watch him perform inside the squared circle.
"The King of Kings" latest match was at this year's Survivor Series traditional tag team match between Team Raw and Team Smackdown, and as usual, Triple H put up another clinical performance on a historic night in Houston. The former WWE Champion was also among the final two remaining competitors in the match (the other survivor being Braun Strowman).
The heart of the matter
During his interview with ESPN, Triple H revealed that the reason why he still wrestles is that according to him wrestling is fun and it is something that he still truly enjoys.
"The Game" also stated that wrestling is something that he will always truly enjoy and remains the most fun part of the 48-year-old's life.
The WWE COO then added that whenever he walks out to an arena to wrestle a match, he cannot wait to hear the "roar" from the audience [referring to the WWE Universe's reaction].
"It's still fun for me. It's still something I enjoy. And it's something that I will always enjoy. It's fun to get out there and remember why you enjoy this in the first place. I can't wait to hear the roar," Triple H stated.
What's next?
At this year's Survivor Series pay-per-view, Triple H brutally blindsided his own team captain, Kurt Angle, and Pedigreed the Raw General Manager. Following the shocking events that took place in Houston last month, it currently seems like WWE might go ahead and make a match between Triple H and Kurt Angle for next year's Wrestlemania.
However, for the time being, Triple H looks forward to his upcoming matches against Roman Reigns -- whom he faces in Abu Dhabi for the Intercontinental Title, followed by a clash against former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal in India, later this month.
Author's take
Everytime Triple H steps into the wrestling ring it truly turns out to be a spectacle, because "The Game" not only is a legend in this business but, he is also one of the greatest and best in-ring performers.
