WWE News: Triple H says WWE will bring back WarGames
What's the story?
We saw the first ever WWE WarGames match in the main event of NXT TakeOver: WarGames and SAnitY, The Undisputed ERA, and The Author's of Pain with Roderick Strong put on an incredible, brutal and memorable match inside the unforgiving structure.
Luckily for the WWE Universe, Triple H has hinted that this won't be the last time we see the match stipulation used in modern WWE.
In case you didn't know...
The WarGames match at NXT TakeOver: WarGames certainly didn't disappoint with all manner of entertaining brutality taking place, Alexander Wolfe busted his head open going through two tables, there was a double Tower-Of-Doom spot, a Superplex off of the top of the cage, Killian Dain eating the key to the cage and hitting a Coast to Coast and Adam Cole finally picking up the win for The Undisputed ERA.
The heart of the matter
Many in the WWE Universe would never have thought that they'd see a WarGames match take place in the PG WWE. But following on from NXT's successful bringing back of the brutal match stipulation, Triple H has indicated during a live Facebook stream that we'll be seeing two rings inside a steel cage again in the future.
"I think we've seen a franchise built here tonight. I think WarGames will be back. I think when the time is right we've got a lot of WarGames excitement yet to come."
What's next?
Triple H was full of praise for the competitors in the WWE's first ever WarGames match, saying that they took the ball and ran with it when it came to reimagining and bring to life the iconic WarGames match, created by Dusty Rhodes.
what I'm really proud of with the guys that were in that ring tonight is they took something from the past, they didn't stand on anybody else's shoulders, they didn't stand on anybody else's roof, they made it theirs. They brought it into something for today, they brought it into something new, they made it now, they made it the future.
Author's take
It seems we might have to wait a while for the next WarGames match to take place in the WWE, however, I honestly don't think I'd mind if they literally need an NXT TakeOver: WarGames rematch next week.
