The background
Fondly referred to as ‘Good Old JR’, Ross is considered to be one of the greatest pro wrestling commentators of all time. In the 1990’s, he established himself as the ‘Voice of the WWE’ and did commentary for some of the most iconic matches of the Attitude Era.
In 2013, he ‘retired’ after his contract with the WWE expired. After an absence of four years, Ross returned to the WWE and called the Roman Reigns-The Undertaker match at Wrestlemania 33. After that, it was revealed that he had signed a two-year deal with the WWE.
The heart of the matter
Triple H tweeted a photo in which he can be seen backstage with Ross at NXT: Takeover in Chicago. Moreover, The Game wrote on Twitter that he was ‘thrilled’ about JR doing commentary for the UK Championship match between Tyler Bate and Peter Dunne. As expected, Ross responded to HHH’s tweet and thanked all concerned for giving him a warm welcome. Besides this, he made it clear that he was looking forward to working with the WWE again.
Thanks to all involved for providing me the kind of night that I needed.

What’s next?
Ross will be doing commentary for WWE’s UK TV show. Besides this, he will also be calling the WWE Women’s Tournament which takes place this summer. So, his fans have plenty to look forward to in the days to come.
Author’s take
As an Attitude Era kid, I am euphoric about Ross’ return to the company. He still is the best in the business and can add a big match feel to the in-ring action courtesy his energetic style of commentary. In other words, his return truly is best for business.
