WWE News: Triple H talks about moving NXT stars to the main roster at the right time
What’s the story?
Triple H is the driving force of the NXT brand and is extremely proud of all the talents and champions it has produced over the years. The developmental show is a great way for future Raw and SmackDown Superstars to get their feet under them, but it often takes quite a bit of time for some of the WWE Universe’s favourite stars to make their main roster debut. During a recent interview with FOX Sports, Triple H talked about why he wait for a while before letting Superstars move up to the main roster.
In case you didn’t know...
NXT is not only a developmental territory but also a touring brand. Several talented performers, who have made a name for themselves on the independent circuit, ply their trade in NXT and delight the fans who turn up at Full Sail University.
The heart of the matter:
Here’s what Hunter had to say about picking the perfect time to debut NXT stars on the main roster (quotes via FOX Sports):
"I would be very hesitant to say for anybody, 'I don't want them to go to the main roster because it's better for NXT if he or she is here.' That wouldn't be the right thing to do for anyone. People stay in NXT because it's not the right time or the right fit to bring them in. People being impatient that there's somebody they want to see, 'Oh this guy would be great on Raw or this girl would be great here, I want to see them there.' I understand that feeling, but if we have a plan that six months from now we have an idea to do this that's going to debut this person in a bigger way … that six months might seem like forever to a fan who doesn't know what the plan is. To us, it's just around the corner."
What’s next?
Expect several NXT mainstays such as Nakamura and Asuka to make their debut in the near future. The Raw after WrestleMania tends to present an excellent opportunity to debut developmental talent because of the hardcore audience that is already familiar with them.

Let's not forget that NXT Takeover: Orlando is also around the corner; it is scheduled for April 1st with Bobby Roode vs. Nakamura and Asuka vs. Ember Moon as the marquee matches.
Author’s take:
Triple H has done great things with the NXT brand. The likes of Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, Finn Balor and Kevin Owens have all spent time in at Full Sail. Going forward, you can expect the developmental brand to continue to create the WWE Champions of the future.
