WWE News: Triple H vs. Batista announced for WrestleMania 35 with huge stipulation
What's the story?
Batista defeated Triple H fourteen years ago at WrestleMania 21, but the outcome may be different for their next match. "The Animal" and "The Cerebral Assassin" will face each other at WrestleMania 35 in a No Holds Barred Match.
In case you didn't know
Triple H made his way to the ring and was followed by Batista, who returned to Monday Night Raw from the first time since his attack on Ric Flair.
Batista brought his bodyguards to protect him and demanded that Triple H give him his match at WrestleMania. The former members of Evolution went back and forth before Triple H made the match official.
The heart of the matter
Batista declared that his match at WrestleMania will be the final wrestling performance of his career which led to Triple H responded by declaring that their match will be No Holds Barred.
The history between both men began in the early years of Batista's career when he joined the Raw stable Evolution. Batista fought alongside Triple H, Randy Orton and Flair for two years before the group disbanded in 2005.
Batista won the 2005 Royal Rumble and defeated Triple H for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 21 and the rematches that followed.
Since their feud in 2005, Batista and Triple H would only cross paths in Royal Rumble matches and were on separate brands throughout most of Batista's early career.
Triple H, Batista and Orton reunited Evolution after WrestleMania 30 to combat The Shield but were unsuccessful in defeating the trio. Batista left the WWE after their final match against The Shield and didn't return to the company until 2018 for Evolution's reunion on SmackDown 1000, which set the stage for their WrestleMania match.
What's Next?
Batista has stated in multiple interviews that he intends to retire after losing to Triple H at WrestleMania, but plans could change.
WWE could end up changing the result of the match to avoid being predictable, but that is pure speculation.
