WWE WrestleMania News: Triple H vs. Seth Rollins to be a non-sanctioned match
What’s the story?
On the latest episode of Monday Night Raw, Triple H and Seth Rollins both signed the contract for their match at WrestleMania 33. After the segment ended, it was revealed that The Game will face The Architect in a non-sanction match this Sunday, April 2nd, at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida.

In case you didn’t know
The story with Triple H and Rollins dates back all the way to the beginning of NXT when Rollins became the inaugural NXT Champion. Eventually, The Shield would be formed and would battle Triple H and Evolution in 2014.
After The Shield beat Evolution at the 2014 Payback pay-per-view, Rollins betrayed Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns and aligned himself with Triple H once again.
Rollins would remain in allegiance with Triple H until August 2016 when the Game cost Rollins the Universal Championship and allowed Kevin Owens to win it. This was the official start to their feud, but the two would not come into contact with each other until NXT Takeover: San Antonio when Rollins demanded to see Triple H and was denied.
A few days later on Raw, Samoa Joe would attack Rollins and reinjure his knee which would lead to the currnet storyline of Rollins being unfit to compete at WrestleMania in a regular singles match.
The heart of the matter
Many fans have drawn comparisons to Shawn Michaels and Seth Rollins and those comparisons have been strengthened with the news of this match being a non-sanction match.
Michaels is one of few men to fight in an unsanctioned match in the WWE. Michael’s first Unsanctioned Match took place against Triple H at SummerSlam 2002 and now Rollins will face Triple H in the same match 15 years later.
What’s next?
Triple H and Rollins have been feuding since August 2016 and they need to deliver on all the hype on Sunday.
Many fans will compare this match to the one Michaels and Triple H back in the day and if it’s not even close to that, a lot of fans will probably be disappointed. Also, with Rollins legitimately reinjuring his knee, the quality of the match could be affected if his injury weighs him down as much as people think it will.
Author’s take
The time has finally come for Rollins and Triple H to have the match that’s been three years in the making. Though the buildup has been subpar a lot of times, the fact remains that these two are competing at WrestleMania and they will have to deliver a fantastic match so fans can go home satisfied.
Also, Rollins winning the match is a must. It isn’t likely that Rollins will lose to Triple H, but people said the same thing about his match with Sting at WrestleMania 31 and we all know how that turned out.
All that aside, if both men wrestle to the best of their abilities, then this can be a great match. It’s all up to Triple H and Rollins now.
