WWE News: Update on Jason Jordan's injury ahead of title defence at the Royal RumbleĀ
What's the story?
Jason Jordan suffered an injury last week that forced him to miss a number of WWE live events which in turn forced WWE to reshuffle their card because he was originally supposed to defend the Tag Team Championships alongside Seth Rollins. It seems that the injury could still be a problem for WWE heading into his title defence at the Royal Rumble next weekend.
In case you didn't know...
Jordan's injury is something that hasn't actually been revealed, but it seems that it is one that is on-going and has already forced him to miss a number of live events over the past week.
It was also quite noticeable that Jason Jordan didn't wrestle Monday night on Raw. Instead he was seen ringside as he helped his partner Seth Rollins score a victory over Finn Balor as part of a match that he made happen, when he went to his father Kurt Angle and demanded that Seth get a decent match.
Jordan and Rollins have a match against The Bar coming up at the Royal Rumble so it seems that whatever it is that is currently keeping Jordan out of the ring, needs to be fixed before next weekend.
The heart of the matter
The most recent update about Jordan's injury is from PWInsider that says that the current Tag Team Champion will miss this weekend's Raw house shows as well, as the company continues to monitor his injury. However, it is yet to be revealed what he is struggling with.
Even though Jordan is injured, he is set to be part of the 25th Anniversary of Raw on Monday night, which could mean that he will be seen at ringside once again. Next week's episode is just six days before the Royal Rumble which means that if Jordan is fit after the weekend off, then the company should use him to help build momentum ahead of his title defence.
What's next?
Jordan will be part of Monday Night Raw in some capacity even though it isn't yet known if he will wrestle. He will be alongside Seth Rollins at the Royal Rumble where they defends their Tag Team Championships against Sheamus and Cesaro. Jordan could then be a part of the Royal Rumble match later in the night.
Author's take
The injury bug has definitely hit WWE and probably at the worst possible time, with WrestleMania on the horizon and WWE looking to fill the longest show of the year. Jordan's injury doesn't seem to be one that the company is too worried about but since he is already filling in for Dean Ambrose, it would be slightly awkward if the replacement was forced to be replaced.
