WWE News: Updated Men's and Women's Royal Rumble participants List
What's the story?
The WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view is set to take place on the 28th of January in the Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia. As we approach the date, more and more stars have declared their participation in the Royal Rumble.
This week's Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live saw more additions to both the Men's and Women's Royal Rumble match.
In case you didn't know...
The 2018 Royal Rumble pay-per-view is set to host the first-ever Women's Rumble match. The match will have the same rules as the male one, with 30 competitors participating for a shot at the Women's title at Wrestlemania. The Women's Rumble is sure to see former WWE stars make a return with 30 spots in the match and only 20 women on the roster.
The Royal Rumble matches always has at least a few surprise entrants as some wrestlers make a return to the ring through the rumble, while others make their WWE debut through it.
The heart of the matter
This week's Raw and SmackDown saw men and women announce that they would participate in the Royal Rumble. There is a chance that a wrestler who had announced that he would be in the Rumble will have to withdraw due to injury.
Samoa Joe was injured on Raw, with a 'thick tissue rupture' at the bottom of his right foot. The recovery process may need about two weeks of therapy, but with the severity of the injury unknown at this point, it is difficult to hazard a guess.
