WWE News updates on Big Show, Batista, Steve Austin and more

‘Stone Cold’ no more?

- Big Show: Following Big Show’s win over Kane at tonight’s WWE live event at Madison Square Garden in New York City, special referee Booker T invited out Michael “PS” Hayes for a segment. Hayes ended up doing a moonwalk while Show did a spinarooni.

- Batista: WWE announced at the Madison Square Garden that Batista will be appearing at the next event from the building on Saturday, 8th March.

- Steve Austin: Austin has no contractual ties with WWE right now and as such he can’t use the Stone Cold name, which WWE owns, although he has the rights to use the Steve Austin name, which is now his real name, as part of an agreement with WWE.

- Rick Rude’s son: He was present at the most recent WWE tryouts at the Performance Center in Orlando, he has no prior experience of wrestling.

- Richie Steamboat: Rumours were rife that WWE recently released Richie Steamboat after Chris Hero mentioned it in an interview. Fresh reports suggest that he is still under contract with WWE and there’s no estimate on when he will return from the back surgery he had about a year ago.

-WWE Goof-up: Regarding the lack of organization with WWE’s live events department, this past week they set up media calls for Cody Rhodes to promote the December 30th Toronto live event. The next day they changed it to The Miz. Then, when Miz was doing the calls, WWE told the reporters that Miz has been pulled from the Toronto event, which means he was likely needed for the live RAW that night in Richmond, Virginia.
