WWE News: Vince McMahon sends John Cena incredibly heartfelt birthday message
What's the story?
Today, John Cena turned 42 years old, and Vince McMahon has tweeted out a rare post to mark the special occasion - delivering some incredibly high praise in a heartfelt message towards the 16-time World Champion.
In case you didn't know...
John Cena's WWE appearances may be few and far between these days, but there's no doubt he's still one of the biggest stars in the business. The 16-time World Champion may be concentrating more on his Hollywood career nowadays, but his WrestleMania appearance was definitely worth the wait as he returned as the Doctor of Thuganomics, laying waste to Elias - both verbally and physically.
In a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, Cena was asked about AEW and proved his class yet again with a very diplomatic answer.
I think competition is great because it forces you to step up or step aside and I think that is fantastic. We have internal competition of performers trying to be the best in our umbrella and that is wonderful because you sink or swim on your own investment.
Competition also stands for the state of the wrestling economy and it's really good right now. There are a lot of people overseas and smaller promotions are getting larger and more traction which means you are consuming more sport entertainment and/or wrestling which is great for everything.
The heart of the matter...
Today marks John Cena's 42nd birthday, and Mr McMahon himself may have delivered the ultimate birthday message to the 16-time World Champion, calling him WWE's Babe Ruth and saying he "can't describe in words" how much Cena means to him.
