What's the story?

Immediately following SmackDown Live every week, 205 Live takes placem and this week, after the show went off the air, the fans in Nashville, Tennessee were treated to some tag team action (as reported by Wrestling Inc).

Randy Orton teamed up with The Usos to take on the team of Rusev, Aiden English and Baron Corbin.

In case you didn’t know…

The WWE Universe in the arena is usually treated to a match or two after the cameras stop rolling. As is the norm, there is usually a dark match following Raw, one before SmackDown Live goes on the air, and one more after 205 Live concludes.

There are not too many restrictions for the Superstars in the dark segments, as they can be seen interacting with the fans with some casual promos, and sometimes unexpected Superstars can be seen teaming up for some tag team action.

The heart of the matter

This past week, after the cruiserweights put on a great show on 205 Live, the action in the ring was not yet over. After the cameras stopped rolling, the current US Champion Randy Orton teamed up with the Tag Team Champions, The Usos to take on the team of 'Rusev Day' and Baron Corbin. The Champions scored a win over the heels this time around.

In another dark match which took place before SmackDown Live went on the air, former Women's Champion Naomi picked up a win against the leader of the Riott Squad, Ruby Riott.

What's next?

This past episode of SmackDown was officially the last stop on the road to WrestleMania. WrestleMania 34 is set to emanate from New Orleans on Sunday, April 8th.

Author's take

The match was yet another babyface vs heels clash, and shows that WWE still consider Rusev to be a heel. Ironically, fan reaction to Rusev says otherwise and the time is now perfect to turn Randy Orton heel and Rusev, face.
