WWE News: What happened after SmackDown Live went off the air (6th September 2016)

John Cena came out after SmackDown Live went off air to help Dean Ambrose

The final segment of SmackDown Live saw a face to face confrontation between WWE Champion Dean Ambrose and the self-titled new ‘face that runs the place’ AJ Styles. Ambrose brought a bag with him to the ring which he later presented to styles. The bag contained a participation trophy for bowling which Ambrose claimed was the only prize Styles would ever get from him.

Ambrose continued to make fun of Styles and berate him as he told Styles that there was no prize for the face who came in 2nd place. Styles laughed away Ambrose’s claims and told him that even John Cena took him seriously before he beat Cena clean at SummerSlam. Ambrose replied that Styles had beaten Cena in a wrestling match, but with Ambrose it would be an all out fight. The broadcast ended with Styles low blow-ing Ambrose and leaving him hunched up in the middle of the ring.

What the viewers at home didn’t see was what took place after the broadcast was over. John Cena came out to Dean Ambrose’s rescue as he lay at the mercy of AJ Styles. Cena was followed out by Bray Wyatt which led to a tag-team dark match between AJ Styles and Bray Wyatt and the team of John Cena and WWE World Champion Dean Ambrose.

Cena had the upper hand in the opening stages of the match and even landed an early 5 Knuckle Shuffle before Bray fought back and controlled Cena for large strecthes of the match. Wyatt and Styles continued to work over Cena till he finally managed to reach Ambrose and tag him in. Ambrose ran amok laying waste to Styles and Wyatt as he cleaned house. Cena then hit AJ Styles with the Attitude Adjustment. Wyatt then tried to give Ambrose a Sister Abigail but he reversed it into a Dirty Deeds as Cena and Ambrose picked up the win to send the crowd home happy.
