What's the story?

This week's SmackDown Live saw Bobby Roode out on commentary during the last first-round match of the United States Title tournament. Mojo Rawley secured the win against former tag team member, Zack Ryder, to face Bobby Roode in the next round.

After SmackDown Live and 205 Live went off the air, Roode saw some in-ring action himself in a dark main event.

In case you didn't know...

Dolph Ziggler won the United States Title at the Clash of Champions pay-per-view. On the following episode of SmackDown Live, he came to the ring and told the audience that they did not deserve him. He kept the United States title in the middle of the ring and walked out, apparently relinquishing it.

A tournament was announced to crown the new United States Champion, with eight SmackDown stars competing in different matches. After the end of the first round, the participants for the semi-final matches are Jinder Mahal, who will face the New Day's Xavier Woods, and Bobby Roode, who will face former Hype Bro Mojo Rawley.

The heart of the matter

After the show goes off the air, WWE stars perform in a casual manner and have fun with the live audience.

The dark main event, after SmackDown Live went off the air, had the Usos and Bobby Roode face the team of Jinder Mahal, Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable. The Usos and Bobby Roode defeated their opponents and celebrated with the live audience.

What's next?

Next week will see the United States Tournament progress, as Jinder is slated to face Xavier Woods, and Bobby Roode will face Mojo Rawley.

Author's take

Roode has a lot of fun with the audience after SmackDown Live goes off the air, and is one of the most charismatic and over stars on the current roster. The Usos have also been extremely over due to the quality of the matches they have put on over the past year. With such a team off camera, the live audience had a lot of fun after the show went off the air.
