WWE News: What happened before SmackDown Live went on the air?

Zack Ryder could possibly become the next US Champion
'The Long Island Iced Z'

What's the story?

Tuesday night saw one of the most memorable episodes of WWE SmackDown Live in recent memory, highlighted, of course, by the fact that Daniel Bryan was medically cleared for an in-ring return. In fact, in the closing segment, Bryan was involved in some in-ring action for the first time in two years.

Additionally, even before the cameras started rolling, the fans in the arena were treated to some tag team action, as reported by Wrestling Inc.

In case you didn’t know…

The fans in the arena usually witness some action, after Raw goes off the air, and sometimes before SmackDown goes live on TV. Yesterday night was no different, as the fans witnessed a six-man tag match before the show went on the air.

The heart of the matter

The blue show emanated from Dallas yesterday night, and before the show went on the air, the team of Zack Ryder, Fandango and Tyler Breeze took on Mojo Rawley, Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable in a six-man tag match.

As reported by WrestlingInc, the fans in attendance popped very loudly for former Intercontinental champion Ryder, even comparable to the reaction received by other top Superstars.

Ryder and the Fashion Police ended up winning the bout.

What's next?

Mojo Rawley is officially a part of the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 34, while the other five Superstars are still not announced for any other match on the card.

Author's take

The Fashion Police have been a part of so many entertaining segments over the past year or so, but sadly this hasn't translated into a push of any sort for the talented duo.

Rawley won the ATGMBR last year, after which him and Ryder reinstated the Hype Bros team. Once again, this did not translate into anything worthwhile either.

Gable and Benjamin reinvented themselves with a heel turn a few months ago, and there is still time for the duo to be involved in the Tag Team Championship picture heading into New Orleans.
