WWE News: Who is playing Colonel Sanders in WWE's next KFC Commercial?
What's the story?
WWE loves partnering with corporate sponsors. They've been great at creating profitable endeavours for all parties involved for a while.
The WWE Universe has been treated to some amazing KFC commercials recently featuring a plethora of WWE Superstars. It turns out the next person in line to don the Colonel Sanders getup is none other than Kurt Angle
In case you didn't know...
Plenty of Superstars have put on the likeness of KFC's legendary founder in the past. From Shawn Michaels to Dolph Ziggler (although Ziggler is used to putting on other people's costumes), they have donned the white suit.
These commercials are not only hilarious but they are a constant reminder of the business savvy inherent in WWE's corporate mindset. After all, WWE is a great commodity with a loyal audience who eats fried chicken and it might as well be from KFC.
The heart of the matter
These commercials are extremely fun. If you'd like to enjoy the commercial they debuted during the SummerSlam kickoff show, it's embedded below. Just imagine how much Kurt Angle could have with one of these commercials.
It appears as though Kurt Angle will get his chance to have fun as the Colonel soon enough. He posted a picture of himself in the makeup chair proclaiming "it's true", he'll be Col Sanders next.
Angle said it was going to be a ton of fun on the set today and it's easy to see why. Angle is game for anything and soaking up every bit of his WWE resurgence he can. This commercial might just be the best yet although it would be hard to beat The Miz in a chicken suit and Shawn Michaels busting out as HBKFC.
What's next?
If these commercials continue to be successful you can probably expect even more Superstars to take on the getup of KFC's most famous chef. This kind of cross-promotional effort is extremely effective after all and both WWE and KFC have to realize this.
Author's take
If you're one of our readers who didn't get to view these commercials it's a real shame because they should be enjoyed by all. We're not trying to push a corporate sponsorship, but these commercials are priceless.
I can't think of who I would want to see more as Col Sanders but it's a toss-up between Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt.
Bray Wyatt would make a great Col Sanders because he could probably get the mannerisms and voice down to a science. Meanwhile, Orton would be fun to watch just because I'm sure he would hate doing it.
Hopefully, we'll get to see Kurt Angle's commercial debut soon. If they can get it finished by TLC that might be the perfect opportunity to pull the trigger on releasing this gem into the world.
