WWE News: Bray Wyatt not facing Brock Lesnar at WWE Roadblock explained
WWE Creative seem to have whipped into their shell in the onslaught of flak they’ve been receiving about the booking of the roster. Other than Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose, nowhere is this more evident than in the case of the infanticidal Brock Lesnar-Bray Wyatt feud.
After a build up that the Universe witnessed with manic eyes and bated breath, a puzzling and frustrating program with Dean Ambrose supplanted it. Lesnar was supposed to face Wyatt at Roadblock, the match was changed to a two-on-one handicap match with him facing Luke Harper and Bray Wyatt but the end result was the Eater of Worlds spectating his first son being squashed.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that the reason behind Bray Wyatt’s absence is a serious back injury. This was suspected, but nothing definite was reported until now. Wyatt apparently incurred the injury sometime in the past week.
Considering that Wyatt last wrestled as recently as March 8th, it stands to debate if he was hurt during a training session. With a worrying amount of marquee talent benched, the fact that he was working through the injury until its treatment was unpostponable cannot be ruled out either. The same happened with Roman Reigns’ nose injury until it was written into the storyline.
Recent reports have assuaged our worries by stating that the Wyatt-Lesnar feud is pencilled in for later this year, at SummerSlam perhaps.
