WWE News: WWE alters The Revival’s theme song
What’s the story?
WWE have altered and re-released the theme song of one of Raw’s newest tag teams, The Revival, as per Wrestling News Source. The duo were promoted to the main roster on Raw after WrestleMania, just a few nights after tearing the house down at NXT Takeover: Orlando.
In case you didn’t know...
The Revival had been tipped to come up to the main roster for a long time prior to their actual arrival, after spending a few years assisting in making NXT’s tag team division exciting. Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson as a team have received a great deal of praise from various wrestling personalities, including the legendary team of Edge and Christian.
The heart of the matter
As you can hear in the above clip, WWE have altered the theme song and it doesn’t include the harmonica. Fans first started noticing the slight change the week after their initial debut in Orlando, and now it’s been officially confirmed by the company themselves.
What’s next?
Due to Dash Wilder’s injury, it seems like it’ll be a while before we see The Revival back on Monday Night Raw. The early prognosis has him returning to action around the summer time, but given the nature of how WWE works, they may not be thrust straight into the title picture upon their return.
With that being said, the reaction they received upon debuting should show the company that there’s money in them as potential champions of the division.
Author’s Take
The slight change gives the theme that little extra spark, which is a shining example of how transitions made on the main roster can have a positive impact on NXT stars.
The Revival are an old school team and we can’t wait to see them return, and despite what many fans will say, they’ll be in good hands with Vince McMahon given the nature of their gimmick.
