WWE News: WWE confirms that D-Generation X is going into WWE Hall Of Fame
What's the story?
D-Generation X is set to be unveiled as the first entrants in this year's WWE Hall of Fame when announcements begin on Monday Night Raw tonight.
In case you didn't know...
The WWE Universe has pushed for Chyna to be added to the WWE Hall of Fame ever since her untimely passing back in 2016, but it was something that the company was not open to delivering at the time.
The induction would also mean that Shawn Michaels will become a two-time Hall of Famer after he was added to the class alone back in 2011. D-Generation X was one of the cornerstones of the Attitude Era and are definitely deserving of the place in this year's class especially since many members of the group still work for WWE.
The heart of the matter
D-Generation X has been confirmed as the first inductees in the 2019 Hall of Fame class, something that will be announced on Raw tonight.
Triple H will be one of the stars inducted into the group and has already commented on the news.
"I think it's the most meaningful for us all to go in together and to be recognized together, because I think both groups were [just] as impactful," he said via ESPN.
"It's a funny thing, because DX was something that, before Kevin [Nash] and Scott [Hall] left, at the time we all talked about using 'The Kliq' as it was -- kind of morphing that into television, since it was so out there anyways, but things worked out the way they did -- they left, and the timing was right."
"Shawn and I still wanted to do it. Vince saw the value in it, I guess, and finally let us go at it, by that point in time I was looking for a heater, and we had brought Chyna."
"It was completely different. No one had ever had a female [enforcer] before, especially one like that. It just worked out. The timing was right. For me, it was the break of a lifetime, right? My career was on the upswing, and then it had its downswing, due to a lot of [different] reasons. That was an opportunity for me to kind of get back on the right path, get out there and show what I could do. Being next to Shawn, the experience was so great, to be around that level of performer. From Taker, to Bret [Hart], to everybody else -- the learning experience was massive."
The induction will include all six original members of D-Generation X, which means that Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Chyna, Road Dogg, Billy Gunn, and X-Pac will all be inducted into the Hall of Fame on April 6th.
What's next?
The 2019 Hall of Fame induction ceremony has been moved back to its original place of the night before WrestleMania 35 and will see all six members of D-Generation X added to the class.
