WWE News: WWE confirms WWE 24 special on WrestleMania 33’s release date
What’s the story?
As reported by WWE themselves on Twitter, the official WWE 24 WrestleMania: Orlando special will premiere this Sunday immediately following the 2018 Royal Rumble.
In case you didn’t know...
WWE 24 is one of the most popular original series on the Network, with the Mania specials being a particular favourite for many. They released one for 30, 31, 32 and 33 will be the fourth in the series.
The heart of the matter
In the following clip, Alexa Bliss is shown being filmed throughout the day of her WrestleMania 33 match. At the end of the video, the release date of the entire episode is confirmed, with it taking place straight after the Rumble on Sunday. As we all know, Bliss wound up losing her SmackDown Live Women’s Championship that night as the hometown favourite Naomi captured the belt.
This past year’s Mania was the first to take place in Orlando since 2008 and the first to emanate from Florida since Miami hosted WrestleMania 28 in 2012.
What’s next?
Many fans will likely tune in to watch the special, with many hoping to catch a glimpse of themselves if they attended the week-long festivities in Orlando.
This particular series often has high expectations among fans, with the Mania 32 edition being a particular hit. With that being said, the comparisons between past editions and the Mania 33 one will likely go on for quite some time.
Author’s take
The WWE 24 specials are always great, and we actually predicted that this year’s Mania edition would air after the Rumble as it has done in previous years. We can’t wait to see which other superstars are featured alongside Alexa Bliss as the road to WrestleMania 34 truly begins, with the WM34 theme song announcement also expected to take place at the Rumble.
