WWE News: WWE "Superstars Shakeup" the mini-draft to take place next week

What will take place next week?

What’s the story?

On the latest episode of Monday Night Raw, Vince McMahon came out to inform the WWE that there will be a “Superstar shakeup” next week. This will likely be some form of the draft to change up the rosters of Raw and SmackDown.

In case you didn’t know...

In 2016, the WWE resurrected the Brand Split and held the draft on the debut edition of Tuesday Night SmackDown. Some of the highlights of the draft were Brock Lesnar getting drafted to Raw, John Cena getting drafted to SmackDown, and several NXT Superstars like Finn Bálor, Nia Jax, and Alexa Bliss getting called up from NXT.

Since the draft, there have been no trades and the only Superstars to get called up or move to a different brand were Bayley, who got called up to Monday Night Raw, and former WWE Superstar Jack Swagger, who debuted on SmackDown Live prior to his feud with Baron Corbin.

The heart of the matter

It was rumoured that a brand split would be taking place in June, so whatever’s going to occur next week could be some type of trade centre. If the actual draft is going to occur, then it will follow the tradition of the previous brand split and be held at some point after WrestleMania.

Rumours have been circulating that Roman Reigns, AJ Styles, The New Day, and several other stars will be changing brands soon and it could happen as soon as next week with the news that just broke.

What’s next?

Make sure to tune into Monday Night Raw next week to see what becomes of some of Raw and SmackDown’s top stars.

With The Revival and The Hardyz on the main roster, Shelton Benjamin cleared to compete, and Finn Bálor soon to return to TV, the WWE has a chance to introduce a lot of cool feuds and matches going forward.

Author’s take

This is some great news that will definitely shake up the shows going forward.

Will John Cena return to the flagship show? Will The Shield be on the same roster? Will American Alpha interact with Kurt Angle? There are endless possibilities and hopefully, this can make both shows equally great in the near future.
