What's the story?

On the first RAW after AEW's Double or Nothing, everyone was wondering what WWE may try to do differently to try and one-up the new, upstart promotion.

Well, they added a new segment for one, but the biggest difference happened during that segment when WWE Superstar Sami Zayn directly referenced WWE's competition, even name-checking AEW.

However, the clip has now mysteriously disappeared from the segment on WWE's YouTube upload.

In case you didn't know…

AEW’s first pay-per-view, Double or Nothing, took place at the weekend to huge critical acclaim, with the new promotion firing shots at WWE throughout the broadcast, notably Cody Rhodes smashing a very familiar looking throne with a sledgehammer.

Well, last night's RAW was sure to get a reaction, and it wasn't long before the chants started - but the unexpected came when Sami Zayn was the first guest in WWE's latest Electric Chair segment, hosted by Corey Graves, where members of the WWE Universe could ask questions.

The heart of the matter

During the Electric Chair segment, Sami Zayn rebuffed a fan's question by rebutting with a line about AEW:

“You could’ve asked me anything. You could’ve asked me about AEW!”

Corey Graves quickly moved on, and WWE has since edited the line out of their YouTube clip.

You can see the clip below.

What's next?

Well, it's anyone's guess why WWE decided to edit out the clip.

Did Sami Zayn go off the script? Was the line scripted and WWE regretted the decision instantly? Or are they working everyone by removing the line to try make it seem unscripted?

Only time will tell, and we'll see if AEW gets another namecheck on WWE on tonight's SmackDown, or next week's RAW!
