WWE News: WWE expected to make several new talent recruitments in 2017
According to PWInsider, WWE is set to make multiple talent acquisitions in early 2017. WWE is also holding Performance Center tryouts in 2017. Additionally, WWE has also scheduled talents to report to the Performance Center by next year.
The names rumoured to be appearing in the upcoming Women’s tournament on the WWE Network, include WWE’s latest signings, Heidi Lovelace, Nixon Newell, Evie, and Kimber Lee. Kimber Lee also faced Ember Moon in the latest episode of NXT:
A report from PWInsider stated that WWE is in signing mode right now. The report also added that officials are working harder, now than ever, to watch indie wrestling so that they can evaluate and scout talent. They also reportedly watch iPPV’s to track talents and write reports on them.
This is not too different from when they track their own talents and evaluate them and their improvements.
One of WWE’s major targets, when it comes to recruiting talent, is Ring Of Honor. In Ring Of Honor, almost all the contracts are set to expire around the same time frame, so WWE is reportedly looking to raid the promotion. It was stated by Wrestlingnewssource.com that The Young Bucks and Adam Cole are WWE’s top priority.
However, as it was seen after ROH’s Final Battle PPV, The Young Bucks have re-signed with ROH, and this will keep them in the promotion (and with New Japan Pro Wrestling) until 2019. Some of the major names WWE will be looking at are Adam Cole, Jay Lethal, and Dalton Castle, among others.
With WWE bidding, ROH is forced to negotiate and offer higher prices to lure their talent to stay in the company. It will be hard for them to try to outbid WWE for many talents, but as of now, reports by Wrestling Observer Newsletter state that ROH are positive that their talents will stay.
