WWE News: WWE fan interrupts Paul Heyman for proposal
What's the story?
Sometimes when cutting a promo in professional wrestling, the unexpected happens and a performer must do what they can to bring the crowd's attention back to them.
This happened to "The Advocate" Paul Heyman on Monday Night Raw, as the WWE Universe's attention was quickly drawn away during his segment with the WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar.
In case you didn't know...
Brock Lesnar is set to take on the new WWE Champion, AJ Styles, at Survivor Series on November 19th. On the November 6th edition of RAW, Heyman and Lesnar called Mahal an unworthy challenger.
The next night, Mahal lost his WWE Championship to AJ Styles, prompting Heyman and Lesnar to return to RAW to address their new opponent.
The heart of the matter
During Heyman's "Five Points" promo, the attention of the Atlanta crowd suddenly shifted as a unique chant broke out. "She Said Yes" was heard echoing across the building, with Lesnar and Heyman smirking as they figured out what happened.
A member of the WWE Universe proposed during Heyman's promo, and after giving the couple time to rejoice, Heyman took to the mic to call out the one responsible.
"Just so you know, interrupting my promo is like stepping into the ring with Brock Lesnar... YOU AIN'T GOT A CHANCE! And she only said yes because she's never been up close with a beast like Brock Lesnar!"
After confronting the newly engaged couple, Heyman went on to finish his 'five points'.
What's next?
Survivor Series will take place on November 19th, and "The Beast Incarnate" Brock Lesnar is set to take on the Phenomenal One in what can be considered a dream match.
Two years ago, no one would've ever thought this match was possible, but in a week we get to see two of the biggest stars in professional wrestling take on each other.
Author's take
If there's one person you want to take a curve ball from the crowd and turn it into gold, it's Paul Heyman. The Advocate came out on Monday Night Raw with a message in mind, and he wasn't going to let something distract the WWE Universe from the moment, even if it was something as nice as a marriage proposal.
You have to give props to who proposed, though. His fiance will never forget this moment, and it's recorded (kind of) for whenever they want to relive the moment.
