WWE News: WWE Hall of Famer attends RAW, backstage photo revealed
What’s the story?
With this week’s RAW tapings taking place in his hometown of St. Louis, MO, WWE Hall of Famer Harley Race reportedly attended the show.
Former WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Natalya has taken to social media so as to post a photograph of her with Race; revealing the same.
In case you didn’t know…
Harley Race is widely regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time.
Race dominated the pro-wrestling scene for a better part of the 1970s, and notably won the NWA World Heavyweight Championship 7 times.
Over the course of his long and storied career, Race performed for several top promotions such as AWA, NWA, WWE and WCW to name a few.
The heart of the matter
Former SmackDown Women’s titlist Natalya, who now performs for the WWE’s RAW brand took to her official Instagram account so as to reveal that Harley Race was indeed backstage at this week’s RAW tapings.
This week’s episode of Monday Night RAW aired from the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri, and saw Natalya perform in a key angle in the final matchup of the show.
After being attacked by Mickie James, Natalya was rescued by Ronda Rousey and helped to the back by the latter—closing out this week’s RAW.
Despite having a tough day inside the ring on RAW, Natalya put forth a photo of her with Harley Race on Instagram; replete with the following caption—
“Such an honor to see the legendary Harley Race backstage in St. Louis. Harley and the Hart family have an incredible history as Harley worked for my grandfather in Stampede Wrestling as one of Stu’s main event wrestlers. We shared some funny stories of my grandfather today and I know Stu is smiling down from heaven remembering the good old days. Nothing but respect for you, Harley!”
What’s next?
Natalya presently performs for the WWE’s RAW brand and is involved in a storyline with Ronda Rousey—with the duo performing as allies on RAW.
Meanwhile, Harley Race is currently rehabilitating the leg injuries he sustained after an accident in his home in May of last year.
Author’s take
Kudos to Natalya for her show of respect toward the living legend Harley Race.
It’s always great to see legends of the sport visit modern-day events, and possibly impart valuable advice to the current Superstars.
