The WWE is reportedly involved in a legal dispute with rapper Travis Scott.
Apparently, Scott filed for a trademark on the term ‘Cactus Jack’, following which the WWE has now filed so as to oppose it.
In case you didn’t know…
WWE legend Mick Foley popularized the ‘Cactus Jack’ character—one of his many personas in the WWE—during the Attitude Era, primarily through the late-1990s.
While the WWE is generally known to keep up to date with its trademark filings, the Cactus Jack trademark was abandoned in 2010.
The heart of the matter
American rapper Travis Scott has filed for a trademark on Cactus Jack as his record label is known as Cactus Jack Records.
While Scott is said to have done so in light of his music production ventures, the WWE has now filed a case to oppose Scott’s trademark attempt.
One ought to note that the Cactus Jack trademark was abandoned in 2010 and while it was used for Mick Foley’s character in the late-90s, the character and name haven’t been prominently used on WWE’s television programming in recent years.

While Mick Foley is presently signed to the WWE, he has long retired from professional wrestling competition.

Well, Travis Scott and the WWE seem to be at loggerheads over Cactus Jack.
While no company in any possible business can trademark each and every important asset/intellectual creation conceptualized by them, the WWE may find something truly essential about Cactus Jack to file to oppose Scott.
