WWE News: WWE issues statement on Jeff Hardy's Weekend Arrest, more details emerge

News broke during the Fastlane pay-per-view that Jeff Hardy was arrested over the weekend on charges of driving while impaired.

WWE have finally spoken up about the incident and have released a statement about Hardy’s arrest.

In Case You Didn’t Know

Hardy was arrested in Carrabus County in Concord, North Carolina on March 10 at 10:20 p.m. and was released an hour later with his driver’s license suspended as part of a pretrial revocation.

The former WWE Champion is expected to return to Carrabus County Courts on April 16.

The Heart of the Matter

More details regarding the arrest came from CBS Sports and revealed that Hardy was driving northbound on Concord Parkway when he allegedly ran off the runway and struck a guardrail before the car spun and stopped in the middle of the right northbound lane.

Another report from TMZ revealed that Hardy submitted to a breath test which revealed that he was three times over the legal limit.

The following statement was released by WWE regarding Hardy’s weekend arrest per PWInsider. The police estimates show that the damage to Hardy’s 2016 Cadillac may be $8,000 in addition to $5,000 in damages to the guardrail.

“Jeff Hardy is responsible for his own personal actions. We are investigating the matter and awaiting information from local law enforcement officials.”

Since this is just a DWI, Hardy might only face a $2,500 fine.

What’s Next?

Hardy’s recovery timetable from his shoulder injury has him projected to return soon and the pending match at the Hardy Compound between Bray Wyatt and “Woken” Matt Hardy could have had an appearance by Jeff returning as Brother Nero, but in light of current events, the company may not be so quick to bring him back.
