WWE News: WWE NXT coming to Japan

The NXT roster will close out the year with international shows in Japan, Australia, and New Zealand

The global phenomenon that it has become, WWE NXT is surely turning some heads. Ever since Triple H took control of the developmental, the NXT has emerged as a refreshing brand of talented wrestlers putting up great matches and going toe-to-toe with their main roster counterparts.

It was recently announced that WWE NXT would set up camp in Japan on 3 December. The NXT superstars will bring their high octane, action packed brand of sports entertainment to the Land of the Rising Sun.The announcement was made by Triple H. He tweeted out that the NXT superstars would perform for their fans in Osaka, Japan. 

Japan is known to be an important location in the map of the wrestling world. Many of the past and present wrestling superstars made it big in Japan before heading for the WWE. It is also the home of New Japan Pro Wrestling, the wrestling company founded by Antonio Inoki back in 1972. Naturally, it will be an important pit-stop for the NXT superstars before their tour of Australia and New Zealand.

The WWE’s New Era has signed a number of superstars who were big in Japan. A number of WWE and NXT superstars such as Nakamura, Asuka, Finn Balor, AJ Styles, The Club (Gallows and Anderson) and even Brock Lesnar have had successful stints in Japan at some point in their careers.

The must see live event is scheduled for December 3rd at the historic Edion Arena in Osaka, Japan. This will mark the first time that WWE has stepped foot in the city of Osaka in over two years. The show will feature the likes of Shinsuke Nakamura, Asuka and Hideo Itami back in their home country.This will be the first time that the NXT Universe in Japan will get a chance to witness Shinsuke Nakamura and Asuka as their NXT Champion and NXT Women’s Champion respectively. The show is also reported to feature the likes of Samoa Joe, and Bobby Roode.

This live event will be a part of NXT’s international leg touring Japan, Australia, and New Zealand during the first part of December. The tour will begin on December 3rd in Osaka, and then the brand will  head down under for the next week. This will feature live events in Auckland and Wellington on the 6th and 7th followed by a week of live events in various parts of Australia including Melbourne, Perth, Gold Coast and culminating on 15th in Sydney.
