What's the story?

On Wednesday, WWE took to their social media platforms and officially announced the signings of five new signings for their NXT UK brand.

In case you didn't know...

WWE's NXT UK brand was initially established in December of 2016 but it wasn't until July of 2018 till WWE officially started the tapings. The NXT UK brand currently consists of three different champions with Pete Dunne in possession of the NXT UK Title, Toni Storm as the NXT UK Women's Champion, and The Grizzled Young Veterans as the first ever NXT UK Tag Team Champions.

Other than that, the NXT UK roster consists of several high profile talents such as the likes of The Coffey Brothers, Jordan Devlin, Noam Dar, Travis Banks, Xia Brookside, Rhea Ripley, Jinny, and brand new NXT UK signee Walter.

The likes of Jack Gallagher, Noam Dar, and Kassius Ohno also recently jumped from 205 Live and NXT respectively and officially joined the NXT UK brand as well.

The heart of the matter

As per confirmed by WWE, five new signings in the form of Jazzy Gabert, Kay Lee Ray, Oliver Sauter, Jay Melrose, and Ilja Dragunov have all officially signed with WWE NXT UK.

Having made his NXT UK debut over the weekend in Coventry, England against Ashton Smith, Independent Wrestling standout Ilja Dragunov remains as one of the biggest fan favorites'. Whereas, former Mae Young Classic competitors Kay Lee Ray and Jazzy Gabert are no strangers to the WWE Universe as well.

Meanwhile, Jay Melrose, also known as Primate, has been working for promotions such as Defiant Wrestling, recently teamed up with Wild Boar at the weekend TV tapings to face Sam Stoker and Lewis Howley.

What's next?

It is definitely an exciting time to not only be a WWE fan but to be a Pro Wrestling fan as well. With the likes of Dragunov, Ray, and Gabert signing with NXT UK, expect to witness some absolutely mouthwatering matches on WWE TV for the rest of the year.
