The Golden Truth has been revealed via his Twitter Page

What's the story?

Veteran WWE Superstar R-Truth has confirmed that an injury has kept him off WWE TV and live events as of late.

Truth, real-life name Killings, revealed the information on Twitter earlier today as he looked to clear up any rumours about his WWE absence, with fans continuously asking him why he had been nowhere to be seen.

In case you didn't know..

R-Truth has been with WWE for many years in two separate stints, with his current one spanning from 2008 onwards. He has only ever been a lower card wrestler in the company, apart from a short-lived main event run in 2011.

Despite WWE's poor utilization of him, Truth has had many humorous and memorable moment there. Many fans cherish Truth for his interactive ways, especially at live events.

In October, there were reports that the former United States and Tag-Team Champion had to get surgery on his arm for an injury. Truth apparently suffered it at a RAW Live Event in Regina, Saskatchewan, during a match with Elias.

The heart of the matter

With WWE not yet acknowledging R-Truth's injury, it has mostly stayed underneath the radar of the WWE Universe.

Therefore, Truth has had to deal with fans quizzing him as to why he has not been on WWE TV and live events, with many aware that WWE is releasing a lot of Superstars at the moment.

But Truth's tweet today clears things up and helps fans to realize he is injured.

Or at least he thought that's what it would. His former WWE (and TNA) tag-team partner and current head of SmackDown creative Road Dogg, took an opportunity to tease Truth about the fan questions he has been receiving.

What's next?

It is unknown as to when R-Truth will be able to return to in-ring action with WWE. With Truth already 45 years old, it looks like his wrestling days are numbered, considering he has been wrestling for over 20 years in WWE, TNA and Memphis Championship Wrestling amongst others.

However, I could see Truth going at it for another few years, maybe up until he is 50 years old, once he recovers from his surgery. He will be more than likely be used to put over up-and-coming Superstar, which has been his role for a while now.

Author's take

It is sad to hear R-Truth is injured. He is often criticised by fans, but those who appreciate him know Truth has charismatic ways that audiences get to see more of at live events, and that asset is something WWE do value.

Hopefully, Truth will get back to work soon.
