What’s the story?

This week on Smackdown Live, the Bludgeon Brothers continued their path of destruction when they destroyed another set of local competitors in yet another squash match. The team of Harper and Rowan faced off against the team of current East Coast Wrestling Association Champion Chris Wylde and Rory Gulak, who is the brother of current 205 Live star Drew Gulak.

In case you didn’t know…

A Northeast High School graduate, 27-year-old Rory Gulak first stepped into the world of Professional Wrestling back in 2004 when he began training at the age of 14 in June 2004 with Chikara Wrestle Factory.

Meanwhile, Gulak’s partner from this week’s episode of Smackdown, Chris Wylde is a former TWA World Heavyweight Champion, a title previously held by current NXT trainer Steve Corino. Wylde is also a three-time ECWA Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Champion, a title which he has held for a total of 819 days combined.

The heart of the matter

Brother of Drew Gulak, Rory Gulak made his Pro Wrestling debut in 2008 in a match where he competed against his own brother Drew Gulak at CZW's Summer School as Little Mondo. During his early days, Rory portrayed his idol Sick Nick Mondo and in 2011, Little Mondo eventually became Rory Mondo and competed in his first Deathmatch in Combat Zone Wrestling.

Rory has also previously competed for Japanese Deathmatch promotion BJW when he took part in the 2011 Tag League of Death. During his tenure in the Indy scene, Rory also teamed up with his Brother Drew to form a tag team called The Amazing Gulaks, however, following Drew’s signing with WWE in 2015 the Gulaks eventually split with each other on-screen.

What’s next?

Following Drew’s signing with WWE, Rory now competes as a singles wrestler for Chikara Pro, where he also works as a trainer at the Chikara Wrestle Factory.

Author’s Take

It is certainly a dream for every wrestler to work under the WWE banner for at least once in their career and as for Rory Gulak, his dream just came true. There is definitely no doubt that Rory would love to join his brother Drew in WWE on a permanent basis.
